Helping out family

This past weekend, I went to Rapid City, SD for my cousin’s wedding. At first I was expecting a relaxing weekend. Instead, I became my cousin’s photographer since their’s got sick and had to go to the hospital.

To be completely honest, I was very nervous. I didn’t want to ruin their big day by not giving them any good pictures. But instead, I had to straighten up and just believe in myself. I had to prepare myself then. I went over settings in my camera and I took to Pinterest to gain some inspiration. Looking back at my experience as a bridesmaid in my brothers’ weddings, I thought of the various photos we took. Yet, I was really nervous about a plan.

Luckily, the pastor involved gave me some tips. When the bridesmaid and groomsmen started to go down the aisle, my spot would be up front on the left side taking photos. The next step was to get the look on my cousin’s face when he saw his bride for the very first time. If I didn’t get anything else, I would at least have that. Then the rest was up to me. I worked around the group trying to get as many pictures as I could. And I really did get a lot. Enough to fill up a 16 GB that I bought for the occasion and a few on my personal SD card.

I had a lot of fun and took some really good pictures. If anything, I was able to get a really cool experience, and my cousin and his new wife will have some memories from their wedding day.
I may even ask for some extra credit for my class.
