It’s the end of the first week of my final semester at Southeast Tech. I’m pretty excited for what my schedule look like for this semester.
First I go to my internship in the Marketing Department here at Southeast Tech for a couple of hours. I feel that I am learning a lot there and getting a lot of opportunities to try new things. It’s different have someone who isn’t a professor critiquing your work because they are not only evaluating your progress but how your ideas can benefit their company or in my case, a school.
My other classes include two portfolio based classes, one that is a general course that will design what our end of the year show will look like, and the other is based on the web. I’m pretty excited for both because I can gather all of my work and see how I have grown in the past two years. I can already feel a change in the way I think about design, so it will be exciting to visually see that change.
I’m also continuing my studies in Layout and Printing classes. I’ll be finishing projects from the last semester, like my magazine, and started new ones like a tech journal. In the printing class, we will also be printing the materials for the end of the year portfolio show once a design is chosen. Hopefully, we will have something that really tests our ability in print production.
Finally, I am taking a photography class which is the one that I am most excited for! So far, when I use rastor based images, I have to find something that is free online. I am hoping to learn how to take my own pictures, make them better by using manual settings, and perfecting my editing skills. I’m excited to actually go out and find the image I want by taking a picture instead of scouring the internet looking for what I have in mind.
My plan is to be better at keeping a consistent schedule in posting these blogs. Keep a lookout on Tuesdays and Thursdays for them.
