So recently I had an interview for my media writing class. I contacted a friend who works at Panther Graphics here in Sioux Falls to see if someone there would be interested in letting me interview them. She asked a coworker and I was able to do that. Her name is Stacy Benning and she works as part of the customer service agents. She was also a graphic designer in the past. She was an absolute joy to interview and I felt like I got a really good look into what a career in graphic design could be like.
Stacy was a graduate of Southeast Tech and has had various jobs working in the print world. She has been a prepress technician, graphic designer, and now she works for customer service. I feel that the two are linked hand in hand because you have to communicate with a client to create a piece or see that the piece gets made. In the end, the customer has to be happy and a big part of that is how well the communication and interactions went. Not only did Stacy tell me about her past experience but she also gave me tips on what to remember and what to do outside of school! Always use rich black compared to a CMYK build and package files. It’s safer than sorry.
I don’t want to spoil too much. Once it’s in the final stages, I’ll definitely post it here for you!
